Which clubs will Morocco players play for after FIFA World Cup 2022?

Morocco wrote a fairytale with its fourth-place finish at the recently concluded Qatar World Cup.

Led by the youthful flair of Hakim Ziyech, Azzedine Ounahi and Achraf Hakimi, Morocco became the first African nation to reach the last four of a World Cup.

On its way, the Atlas Lions brought down European giants Belgium, Spain and Portugal.

Beating everyone’s expectations, Morocco did not let any opposition player score. The only goal it conceded till the semifinal was an own goal.

While it lost the last two games in Qatar - the semifinal 0-2 to France, and the third-place playoff 1-2 to Croatia, Walid Regragui’s side set a benchmark for Africa to look up to.

With the right blend of youth and experience, Morocco put forth a lineup that was disciplined, resolute and daring.

The breakout star from the team was goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who made two saves in the Round of 16 penalty shootout against Spain. Sofyan Amrabat was another game-changing play for Morocco in from the midfield.

While Ziyech and Hakimi play are the more popular names in the Moroccan set up, most of its players play in first-division leagues across countries.
