Floyd Pinto appointed as India Arrows coach

The AIFF's Technical Committee unanimously decided to appoint Floyd Pinto as the coach of I-League developmental side Indian Arrows.

The AIFF's Technical Committee chaired by Shyam Thapa, decided to appoint 32-year old Floyd Pinto as the coach of Indian Arrows.

All India Football Federation’s (AIFF) has announced the appointment of Floyd Pinto as the new head coach of Indian Arrows. The AIFF's Technical Committee was chaired by Shyam Thapa, met on Wednesday at the Football House in Dwarka to take the decision.

Pinto was the head coach of Indian U-20 national football team which will play in the COTIF International tournament in Spain. Indian Arrows, AIFF's developmental team comprising of U-17 and U-19 players, finished bottom of the I-League last season. On 18 July, Luis Norton de Matos stepped down as its coach citing personal reasons.

Besides AIFF General Secretary Kushal Das and National Team Director Abhishek Yadav, Henry Menezes, Sundar Raman and Pradip Datta also attended the meeting.

Yadav apprised the Committee about the performances all the age-group National Teams including the U-16 National Team which are slated to play in the AFC U-16 Championship Malaysia 2018 in September 2018.

The Committee unanimously agreed upon Floyd Pinto taking over as the new Head Coach of Indian Arrows while his assistant will be appointed later after shortlisting applications for the post.
