Minerva Punjab threatens to pull out of Super Cup

The newly crowned I-League champion Minerva Punjab threatened to pull out of the inaugural edition of the Super Cup on Monday night, according to reports.
The club has written a letter to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) stating that it doesn't have the finances to participate in the month-long knock-out competition in Bhubaneswar.
Sportskeeda quoted Minerva owner Ranjit Bajaj saying the team had already pulled out of the tournament citing its inability to bear the expenses for travel, accommodation and food for the players and staff during the course of the tournament.
Earlier in the day, the draw for the Round-of-16 stages of the tournament was announced, where Minerva was pitted against Indian Super League side Jamshedpur FC on April 2 at the Kalinga Stadium.
