Jugovic is likely to be in the squad for BFC's next match away to Minerva Punjab on March 5.

With its hopes of retaining the I-League title fast receding, Bengaluru FC has announced the signature of Serbian striker Marjan Jugovic. The hope is for the 33-year-old to lend some attacking flair to a side which has been winless in the last seven matches.

With Jugovic's signing, BFC has filled the quota of four foreign players. Earlier this month, the club had released Honduran Roby Norales after just four appearances.

“I’m very happy to join a big club in India and one that’s famous across Asia too," said Jugovic who arrived in the city on Friday. "I hope to help the team have a successful finish to the season. I was at the stadium on Saturday and saw the passion of the fans and I’m very excited to play for them."

Jugovic comes with the experience of having played in Poland, Syria, Iceland and Indonesia and also in the Europa League and the AFC Champions League. He last played for Lebanese club Al-Akhaa Al-Ahli Aley where he scored 18 goals in 31 appearances.

“We hope the arrival of Marjan will add impetus to our attacking department," said manager Albert Roca. "We have been creating so many chances but have struggled to put them away. He’s tall, a proper target man and has very handy experience gathered across continents. I’m sure he will help get our season back on track.”

The striker is likely to be in the squad for BFC's next match away to Minerva Punjab on March 5.
