Mohun Bagan which tasted a shock 3-0 defeat against Peerless in its previous match, again had a tough outing against a lesser known Calcutta Customs.

Stanley’s 90th minute equaliser enabled Calcutta Customs to earn a 1-1 draw against defending champion Mohun Bagan in a Calcutta Football League Premier Division ‘A’ match here on Wednesday.

Bagan, which tasted a shock 3-0 defeat against Peerless in its previous match, again had a tough outing against a lesser known Customs.

As It Happened

After taking the lead through Fran Gonzalez’s strike in the 21st minute, Bagan found it difficult to keep the attacking Customs players in check. It missed the services of Lalchhawnkima after an hour’s play as the defender was sent off following his foul on Philip.

However, Customs was also down to 10 men when Debayan Saha was booked for a second yellow card, resulting in a red in the 84th minute

Stanley’s shot off an Amit Chakraborty corner kick beat Bagan keeper Shankar Roy in the closing minutes as both teams shared the spoils. Bagan collected its first point, while Customs got its second.

The result:

Calcutta Customs 1 (Stanley 90) drew with Mohun Bagan 1 (Gonzalez 21).
