Togo international footballer saves goalkeeper’s life on pitch

Togo international Francis Kone, playing for Slovacko, noticed that something was not right with the opponent goalkeeper. The goalkeeper had ‘swallowed his tongue’, and it was Kone, who pulled it out to save his life.

Togo international and Slovacko defender Francis Kone will remember the league match against Bohemians 1905 for a long time. After all, it was because of him that a life was saved on the football pitch.

The game between Bohemians 1905 and Slovacko was in its thirty minutes, when drama unfolded. Bohemians goalkeeper Berkovec collided with his own defender Daniel Krch and collapsed on the pitch.

Kone, playing for Slovacko, noticed that something was not right with the opposition goalkeeper. According to

Mirror.co.uk, the goalkeeper had ‘swallowed his tongue’ and it was Kone, who pulled it out to save his life.

After the game, Berkovec took to social media to thank Kone for his intervention. “I would like to thank Francis Kone for rescue and emergency at today’s game…I’m glad for the relief and thanks again!!!,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

The goalkeeper spent the night in a local hospital after undergoing a CT scan, and is expected to be discharged in a few days.

Slovacko head coach Michal Kordula thanked Kone for saving the life of a player.
