Kerala Blasters' camp begins

In the coming days more players are expected to join the camp. Kerala players Rino Anto and C.K.Vineeth, who are now with Bengaluru FC, will join the team after its club’s AFC match.

The Kerala Blasters will train at the Greenfield stadium till September 6 and the team will fly to Thailand the next day.

The pre-season training camp of Kerala Blasters, before the third edition of the ISL, got underway at the Greenfield stadium here on Sunday evening.

Fourteen players including four overseas stars – Michael Chopra, Antonio Germain Josue Prieto and Cedric Hengbert, went through its paces under watchful eyes of English coach Steve Coppell, goalkeeping coach-cum player Graham Stack and assistant coach Wally Downes.

Mohammed Rafi, Prasanth Mohan, Prasanth Mohan, Gurwinder Singh, Ishfaq Ahmed, Thongkhosien Haokip and goalkeeper Sandip Nandy were some of the Indian players who took part in the training on the first day. The team-members spent nearly two hours at the stadium.

In the coming days more players are expected to join the camp. Kerala players Rino Anto and C.K.Vineeth, who are now with Bengaluru FC, will join the team after its club’s AFC match. Sandesh Jinghan who has been retained by Kerala Blasters for this season, will join the team after India’s friendly match against Puerto Rico.

The Kerala Blasters will train at the Greenfield stadium till September 6 and the team will fly to Thailand the next day. Kerala Blasters will have spent at least two weeks in Thailand before returning to its base in Kochi in the third week of September.
