The return of Amandeep Drall, Vani Kapoor and Neha Tripathi will strengthen the field considerably when the eighth leg of the Hero Women's Pro Golf Tour begins at Clover Greens near here on Wednesday.

The three were away at the Ladies European Thailand Championships last week when rookie Tvesa Malik secured a narrow victory in the seventh leg. Tvesa and Gaurika Bishnoi, who finished runner-up at Eagleton, will be in contention again as the tour moves just across the border into Tamil Nadu.

Vani was India's best performer in Thailand, tying for 54th place. The Delhi golfer has won two of the three events she has played on the domestic tour this season and will seek to pick up from where she left off. Amandeep, who finished tied 59th in Thailand, also has two wins to her name. She was displaced at the top of the money list by Gaurika last week, and now has a chance to occupy that spot again.

Sharmila Nicollet, who has been struggling with injury and indifferent form, finished 10 shots behind the winner at Eagleton. She will want to make amends, and claim her first title this season. The experienced Smriti Mehra, whose best finish this season has been second, is also seeking a turnaround after tying for seventh (with Nicollet) in the previous leg. The stage is set for an interesting week's action.
