Sergio Garcia celebrates at Le Golf National

Sergio Garcia broke the record for Ryder Cup points as Europe clinched victory at Le Golf National on Sunday. The Spaniard was a wildcard selection for this year's tournament, but he played a key role for Thomas Bjorn's team and his third win of the week saw him move to 25.5 points overall.

And, that figure, reached with a 2 and 1 win over Rickie Fowler, took Garcia past Nick Faldo's previous all-time record tally of 25. But, the humble Garcia preferred to focus on his sixth team win rather than revel in personal achievement.

"It obviously means a lot but, at the end of the day, I've always said it, it's about the team. I'm happy that I was able to help," he told Sky Sports .

"It's a bonus. It's something that I never thought I would have the possibility of doing. Now, that it's happened, I'm just so happy. These guys are unbelievable."
