PKL 2018: U Mumba humbles Dabang Delhi, UP Yoddha edges past Telugu Titans

U MUmba cruised to a 44-19 win over Dabang Delhi, while UP Yoddha registered a 27-20 win against Telugu Titans in the ProKabaddi League on Tuesday.

U Mumba put up a dominating display to defeat Dabang Delhi 44-19 in in the ongoing ProKabaddi League at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium here on Tuesday.

U Mumba, the Zone A topper, put up a stunning all-round show that saw its defenders and raiders combine effectively to cruise to a comfortable  win. Siddharth Desai (12 points) and Rohit Baliyan (8 points) were excellent in the raiding department, while captain Fazel Atrachali got a High Five and Surender Singh scored four points to marshal the defence.

Delhi struggled to get going against a robust opposition and none of its players managed to create an impact. Meraj Sheykh had a match to forget as he failed to register a single point. Despite the defeat, Dabang Delhi remains in the hunt for a spot in the playoffs.

Rohit got U Mumba off to a quick start with two raids in two minutes to see the side lead 4-1. The first half saw Chandran Ranjit pick up a couple of raid points, but no other Dabang Delhi raider impresed.

U Mumbai inflicted the first All Out of the match in the 16th minute to lead 16-8 and went into the break leading 19-11. Siddharth's successful raid in the 30th minute led U Mumba to another All Out and the side led 30-15. It was one-way traffic here on and Delhi surrendered haplessly and managed to score just four points in the last 10 minutes.

U Mumba inflicted another All Out with five minutes to go to register an easy 44-19 win in the end.

-UP Yoddha trounces Telugu Titans-

UP Yoddha defeated host Telugu Titans 27-20 in a Zone B contest. For UP, Prashanth Kumar Rai was the top scorer with eight raid points.

For the home side, Abozar Mighani contributed with six tackle points but was let down by his raiders. Nilesh Salunke scored just one raid point, while ace raider Rahul Chaudhari got six points for the Titans. Both teams still remain in contention for a place in the playoffs.
