"I've been saying the last month or so that I'm very happy where I am," he told a news conference. "I already [made] up my mind so I think what Otmar says is quite correct."

Sergio Perez has indicated he will remain with Force India after being tipped to move at the end of the Formula One season.

Perez, who is under contract with Force India until the conclusion of the 2017 campaign, has been linked with Renault, Ferrari and Williams - who will have a vacant seat to fill when Felipe Massa retires later this year.

However, Force India's chief operating officer Otmar Szafnauer has claimed Perez will not be leaving.

And the Mexican, speaking after qualifying ninth for the Italian Grand Prix, appeared to support that position.

"I've been saying the last month or so that I'm very happy where I am," he told a news conference.
