Sailing at Tokyo Olympics: Varun Thakkar, KC Ganapathy finish creditable 7th in Race 6

The 49er pair of Varun Thakkar and K.C. Ganapathy are currently placed 17th overall; In men's laser standard, Vishnu Saravanan is placed 23rd while Nethra Kumanan is placed 31st overall in the women's laser radial class.

The Indian men’s 49er pair of Varun Thakkar and K. C. Ganapathy fought back with a creditable seventh-place finish in the sixth race of the sailing event at the Tokyo Olympics on Thursday.

In the six races held so far, this was the duo’s best performance. The two had finished 16th in the fifth race. With six races to go, the Varun-Ganapathy combine was placed 17th overall.

Vishnu Saravanan and Nethra Kumanan emerged 23rd and 31st overall in the laser standard and radial categories. Vishnu came 27th and 23rd in races 7 and 8, while Nethra had to be content with 22nd and 20th place finishes.
