Shotgun World Cup: Kynan, Prithviraj lead men’s trap qualification

The two led after two rounds with 50.

Olympian Kynan Chenai and Priithviraj Tondaiman were on target in their pursuit to pin the elusive Olympic quota as they led with 50 after two rounds in men’s trap, at the Shotgun World Cup in Changwon, Korea, on Wednesday. The two had Matthew John Coward-Holley of Britain and Maxim Kolomoyets of Kazakhstan for company at the top.

Three more rounds will be followed by the single-barrel final for the top six. In women’s trap, the Chinese Deng Weiyun and Wang Xiaojing swept the gold and silver medals. Since they had already won the Olympic quota, the bronze medallist Ashley Carrol of the U.S. and the sixth placed Melanie Couzy of France won the Olympic quota places. Shagun Dhowdhary (110) and Rajeshwari Kumari (99) finished 35th and 56th respectively.
