When Kolkata Knight Riders plays its home fixtures at the Eden Gardens in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), it may not have its principal owner Shah Rukh Khan cheering for the side from the stands in all seven matches.

However, the Bollywood superstar will be in the stands on Sunday when the Knights begin its campaign against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Highly placed sources have confirmed to

Sportstar  that Shah Rukh will be present for the fixture, along with some of his friends from Mumbai.

The Bollywood actor has been busy shooting for his new film, ‘Zero’, along with Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma.  Sportstar  was first to report that Shah Rukh would not be able to make it to the stands for most of the KKR fixtures due to busy schedule of the film in India and the U.S.

While there is a buzz that Anushka, wife of Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli, may also be present for the match, there is no clarity yet.

Whatever it be, the cricket crazy fans of Kolkata will be looking forward to some exciting round of cricket, with Shah Rukh in company.
