National ranking table tennis tournament: Haryana girls blank Delhi

Haryana defeated top seed Delhi 3-0 to take the women’s team title in the National ranking table tennis (North Zone) tournament.

Results followed the much-anticipated script with Haryana blanking top seed Delhi 3-0 to take the women’s team title in the National ranking table tennis (North Zone) tournament here on Sunday. Served well by former National champion from Bengal, Sutirtha Mukherjee and home-grown Riti Shankar, Haryana enjoyed a smooth start and finish. In between, Oishwarya Deb battled from a 1-2 deficit against Garima Goyal to win two close games and doubled Haryana's lead. Even Monday’s men team title-clash will involve Haryana and Delhi. In the semifinals, both teams cruised to 3-0 triumphs.
