Kadhe-Balaji seeded 3rd in doubles, Yadlapalli 7th in Australian Open wildcard playofff

The Indian pair of Arjun Kadhe and Sriram Balaji figures in the top half with the top seeds Mao-Xin Gong and Ze Zhang of China.

Arjun Kadhe and his partner, Sriram Balaji, have been seeded 3rd in the doubles of the Australian Open wildcard playoff.

Pranjala Yadlapalli has been seeded seventh and drawn to play the 422nd-ranked Mana Ayukava of Japan in the women’s first round of the Australian Open wild card playoff tennis event in Zhuhai, China.

In the men’s section, Sidharth Rawat will challenge the second seed Ze Zhang of China. Arjun Kadhe will be up against the seventh seed Renta Tokuda of Japan. Lee Duckhee of Korea, ranked 209, is the top seed in the event.

Arjun Kadhe and Sriram Balaji have been seeded third in doubles and given a bye in the first round, in a field that has 10 teams. They will open with a quarterfinal outing against Riquele Te and Di Wu of China. The Indian pair figures in the top half with the top seeds Mao-Xin Gong and Ze Zhang of China.

In the boys event, featuring only 13 players, Mann Shah is the top seed with a rank of 99. The second seeded Pengyu Lu of China is ranked 211. The top three seeds have been given a bye in the first round.

Even though the play-off started on Tuesday, very few matches were played. The Indian players will be in action on Wednesday.
