Bopanna loses doubles quarterfinal in Rotterdam

Rohan Bopanna and his Czech partner Tomas Berdych lost the quarterfinal to Ivan Dodig of Croatia and Marcel Granollers of Spain at the ATP tour event in Rotterdam on Thursday.

Third seeds Ivan Dodig of Croatia and Marcel Granollers of Spain beat Rohan Bopanna and Tomas Berdych 6-3, 6-4 in the doubles quarterfinals of the EUR 1,854,365 ATP Tour event in Rotterdam on Thursday. The doubles quarterfinals fetched the Indian-Czech duo EUR 14,100 and 90 ATP points. Berdych had earlier beaten Richard Gasquet in the singles second round.

Meanwhile, Purav Raja and Divij Sharan bowed out of the USD 720,410 ATP event in Memphis, as they were beaten 6-3, 6-4 by Jonathan Erlich of Israel and Scott Lipsky of the U.S., in the first round. After Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan had lost his doubles earlier, the Indian challenge ended as Leander Paes in partnership with Guillermo Garcia-Lopez gave a walkover to Brian Baker of the U.S. and Nikola Mektic of Croatia.

In the ITF women’s event in Perth, Olympian and Asian Games bronze medallist with Sania Mirza, Prarthana Thombare made the doubles final in partnership with Irina Maria Bara of Romania.
