It is also learnt that Leander Paes, who had first competed in the Asian Games in 1990 in Beijing, and had won both the men’s doubles and mixed doubles gold medals the last time he played the Asian Games in Doha in 2006, would have a young and friendly partner.

The Executive Committee of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) has put the ball in the court of captain Zeeshan Ali to decide on the doubles pairings for the Asian Games.

However, there has been enough hint that Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan are likely to play together, as per their wish.

It is also learnt that Leander Paes, who had first competed in the Asian Games in 1990 in Beijing, and had won both the men’s doubles and mixed doubles gold medals the last time he played the Asian Games in Doha in 2006, would have a young and friendly partner.

That could be a surprise choice before the draw is made in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Executive also discussed the new Davis Cup format and the Transition Tour of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), but nothing concrete emerged out of it.
