Indian team announced for Asian Youth championship

The selection of 24 boys and 13 girls was based on the performance of the athletes in the recent National Youth championship in Hyderabad.

The Athletics Federation of India announced a 37-member Indian team for the second Asian Youth Championship.

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) has announced a 37-member Indian team for the second Asian Youth Championship to be held in Bangkok from May 20 to 23. The selection of 24 boys and 13 girls was based on the performance of the athletes in the recent National Youth championship in Hyderabad. The athletes will train at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Centres in Sonepat and Patiala in preparation for the Asian meet. The teams:Boys: Gurindervir Singh, Palender Kumar, Akshay Nain, Manish, Vikrant Panchal, Abbhishek Mathew, Avdesh Nagar, Mohd. Meraj, Abbhishek Ubhe, Punga Soren, Rishab Kumar, Rakesh Gond, Mohit (shot put), Kartikey, Abhay Gupta, Sahil Silwal, Damneet Singh, Nitesh Poonia, Rohit Yadav, Avinash Yadav, Sanjay Kumar, Suraj Panwar, Mohit (decathlon), Sourav Rathi. Girls: Rajashree Prasad, AT Daneshwari, Hima Das, D. Jyothika Sri, K. T. Adithya, Ankita Chahal, Shraddha Kathiriya, Seema, Poonam Dinkar Sonune, Nivya Antony, M. Karuniya, M. Medha, Sneha Suryakant Jadhav.
