NADA to conduct dope tests at State Athletics Championship
NADA will conduct dope tests at all State athletics meets in order to crack down on the usage of performance-enhancing drugs at the lower-end of athletics meets.

Three officials of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) will conduct dope tests during the two-day LIC 69th Maharastra State Senior Athletics Championship at the University Sports ground on June 25 and 26.
Following the request of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and sports, NADA will conduct dope tests at all State athletics meets in order to crack down on the usage of performance enhancing drugs at lower end of athletics meets.
Recently NADA carried out dope tests during the Kerala senior athletics championship in Malappuram.

The President of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) and Maharastra Athletics Association (MAA), Adille Sumariwalla said at a press conference here on Sunday that dope violations have been reported across major institutional, State and district-level meets.
“NADA will conduct tests at all State meets before the inter-state in Lucknow in August. The Open Nationals will take place in Bengaluru in October. Two months ago the MAA informed all the districts about dope tests. We expect the outcome of these tests in ten days after the conclusion of the State championship. The Selectors will have the benefit of the outcome before they pick the squad for the inter-state meet,” said Sumariwalla.
The State championship is being held in the city after ten years and a record 1116 entries have been received, with Pune District sending 95 entries; 53 men and 42 women.
