Kidambi Srikanth is expected to play in the India Open.

Kidambi Srikanth pulled out of Indonesia Masters with a injury on Tuesday.

Announcing his withdrawal from the World Tour Super 500 tournament on Twitter, India's top male badminton player Srikanth expressed confidence that he will be fit in time for the India Open happening next week.

"I will not be taking part in the Indonesia masters this week due to a small injury but will be playing India open next week," the shuttler tweeted.

Srikanth, who won four Super Series titles last year to rise to stardom in Indian badminton, has been carrying a knee strain since the National Championship in November last year. Though he played in the Dubai Super Series Finals in December and the Premier Badminton League this year, he was yet to display the agility and fitness that helped him win back-to-back titles last year.

India Open, a World Tour Super 500 tournament carrying a prize money of $350,000, will be held from January 30 to February 4.
