International Hoopathon Series: Kerala All Stars stuns Ringwood Hawks

P.G. Anjana topped the scoring charts for Kerala with 16 points while captain P.S. Jeena and Grima Merlin made 15 each.

International P.S. Jeena, the Kerala All Stars captain, attempting a basket against Melbourne's Ringwood Hawks in the third women's basketball game of the five-match 'International Hoopathon Series' in Kottayam on Thursday night.

After tasting two defeats, the Kerala All Stars finally hit winning form and stunned Melbourne’s Ringwood Hawks 64-55 in the third women’s basketball game of the five-match ‘International Hoopathon Series’ Sports Council indoor stadium here on Thursday night.

Despite trailing 10-14 in the first quarter, Kerala All Stars came back strongly 28-25 at half-time and then 48-42 after the third quarter in front of a fully-packed stadium.  

P.G. Anjana topped the scoring charts for Kerala with 16 points while captain P.S. Jeena and Grima Merlin made 15 each.  

The teams will play the next match in Thiruvananthapuram’s Jimmy George indoor stadium on Saturday.
