Phoenix Mercury star guard Diana Taurasi will miss at least four weeks after fracturing her sternum in a recent game.

Taurasi was injured during a May 16 loss to the Connecticut Sun. She played the next two games before a CT scan detected a small fracture.

Taurasi, who turns 39 on June 11, is averaging 15.8 points, 3.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds in four games this season. She is six points away from becoming the first WNBA player to score 9,000 career points.

The nine-time All-Star and 2009 WNBA MVP has been hampered by injuries in recent seasons and has played in just 29 games since the conclusion of the 2018 campaign.

Taurasi has career averages of 19.6 points, 4.3 assists and 4.0 rebounds.

The Mercury (2-2) host the Las Vegas Aces on Wednesday.
