World rapid chess: Anand in joint-third place
Former champion Viswanathan Anand moved to the joint-third place at the end of the seventh round of the World rapid chess championship in Doha. Top-seed and World champion Magnus Carlsen was languishing in the 21st place with 4.5 points.

Former champion Viswanathan Anand moved to the joint-third place at the end of the seventh round of the World rapid chess championship in Doha on Tuesday. He had 5.5 points, half-a-point behind the leaders Levon Aronian of Armenia and Anton Korobov of Ukraine.
Top-seed and World champion Magnus Carlsen was languishing in the 21st place with 4.5 points.
In the women’s event, Ukraine’s Anna Muzychuk was in the sole lead with five points from six rounds. India’s Dronavalli Harika was placed 19th, while Koneru Humpy was 21st, with three points each.
