India women’s hockey team stuns Olympic champion England

The India women's hockey team made amends for an average outing against Wales and an unconvincing display against Malaysia to beat Olympic Champion and World No. 2 England 2-1 here on Sunday.
Given the superiority that England has always maintained, it was only natural that it found itself dominating the attack from the start.
England grabbed the lead in the first minute through skipper Alexandra Danson, who ran in through the right to breach the Indian defence and find the back of the net.
However, a strong third and fourth quarter saw Navneet Kaur and Gurjit Kaur sounding the board for India in the 42nd and 48th minute, ensuring a memorable win for the eves.
