A day after the Bombay High Court extended the tenure of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) to conduct the affairs of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA), it was business as usual at the association headquarters.

Amidst speculation over the committee having expressed its inability to continue working due to objections to its modus operandi - by a group of MCA members - the two-member CoA, comprising retired Justices Hemant Gokhale and V.M. Kanade, conducted the daily affairs as swiftly as they have been doing over the last few months.

It is understood that contrary to reports which claimed that the two judges were considering relinquishing their roles, the CoA was involved in the administrative work in tandem with chief executive C.S. Naik.

Meanwhile, Ravi Mandrekar, who represents the Gaud Saraswat Cricket Club in the MCA and who has been raising various objections to the CoA, issued a statement to clarify that he has not sent any “hate and abusive mails” to the CoA.
