Chennai girl Hemalatha in India's women's squad for England ODIs

Chennai girl Dayalan Hemalatha was named in the India women's squad for the ODI series against England.

While Hemalatha, who has played for India A in the past, is the new inclusion, the side mostly features known names.

Chennai girl Dayalan Hemalatha was named in the India women's squad for the ODI series against England. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Monday, announced a 15-member squad, which will feature in the series, beginning in Nagpur from April 3.

While Hemalatha, who has played for India A in the past, is the new inclusion, the side mostly features known names. With Mithali Raj leading the side, the focus will once again be on Harmanpreet Kaur.

The national selectors have also picked India A squad which will play a practice game against England Women.

India squad: Mithali Raj (Captain), Harmanpreet Kaur (vice-captain), Smriti Mandhana, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Dayalan Hemalatha, Veda Krishnamurthy, Devika Vaidya, Jhulan Goswami, Shikha Pandey, Pooja Vastrakar, Ekta Bisht, Poonam Yadav, Sushma Verma (wicket-keeper), Rajeshwari Gayakwad.

India A squad: Deepti Sharma (Captain), Jemimah Rodrigues, Devika Vaidya, Dayalan Hemalatha, Priya Punia, Anuja Patil, Mona Meshram, Sukanya Parida, Kavita Patil, Shanti Kumari, Tanushree Sarkar, Nuzhat Parween (wicket-keeper), Radha Yadav, T P Kanwar.
