West Indies has announced Courtney Walsh as the interim assistant coach for women’s team for their upcoming series against India at home. He will join Gus Logie (interim head coach) and Rayon Griffith (interim coaching staff) to complete the setup.

Walsh has earlier served as bowling coach for Bangladesh and as a selector for West Indies.

“My function is to focus a lot more on the bowlers and the cricket in general to get the ladies together,” he was quoted as saying by ICC.

“I’m just happy to be able to work with Gus - we haven’t had a chance to be on the same team since we were players and we just want the women to play the type of cricket we know they can play.”

Evril Betty Lewis will be serving as team manager for the series.
