Group A

Maharashtra vs Karnataka

Karnataka resumed its first innings at 117 for 0. Out correspondent P. K. Ajith Kumar reports from Pune:

. Karnataka finishes Day Two on 461 for two, leading Maharashtra by 216 runs with Mayank Agarwal unbeaten on 219 and Karun Nair giving him company on 56.

. Karnataka is well on its way to bat out Maharashtra at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium here in Pune on a pleasant winter afternoon. The visiting side is enjoying a cup of tea at 345 for two, with Mayank Agarwal unbeaten on 151; his opening partner R. Samarth had made 129.

Karnataka is exactly a hundred runs ahead. With Karun Nair at the wicket along with Agarwal, Maharashtra has plenty to worry about.

. At Pune, Karnataka has drawn level with Maharashtra’s first innings, that too without losing a single wicket. The visiting side took lunch at 245 for no loss, replying to the host’s 245 all out.

Openers R. Samarth and Mayank Agarwal weren’t tested greatly by the Maharashtra bowlers. Samarth is batting on 128, his second hundred of the season, while Mayank Agarwal is on 89. [ Day One report ]

Delhi vs Uttar Pradesh

Delhi finished Day Two at 228 for six, still needs 63 runs to lead Uttar Pradesh's total of 291.

Railways vs Hyderabad

Railways finished Day Two at 24 for one, trailing Hyderabad by 450 runs.

Group B

Saurashtra vs Jharkhand

Jharkhand finished Day Two at 52 for two in its second innings, trailing Saurashtra by a mammoth 501 runs.

Gujarat vs Haryana

Gujarat finished Day Two at 110 for two in its second innings, with an overall lead of 189 runs.

Kerala vs Jammu and Kashmir

Kerala finished Day Two at 45 for one in its second innings, with an overall lead of 91 runs.

Group C

Odisha vs Mumbai

Mumbai finished Day Two at 58 for 3 in its second innings, with an overall lead of 202 runs.

Day's updates from our correspondent Amol Karhadkar in Bhubaneshwar:

. Six ducks in Odisha's first innings as Biplab Samantaray runs out of partners. Remains unbeaten on 72 as Odisha bowled out for 145. Mumbai lead by 144.

. Aditya Tare introduces spin in the first over after tea and Vijay Gohil responds with a double strike. He fetches an inside edge off debutant Shantanu Mishra's bat to Akhil Herwadkar at forward short leg to break the 93-run partnership for the fifth wicket. He also gets one through keeper Saurabh Rawat's defence to crash into the stumps to leave Odisha reeling at 95 for six.

. Dhawal Kulkarni and Shardul Thakur left Odisha tottering at two for four in the third over. Shantanu Mishra and Biplab Samantaray have since staged a mini-recovery as Odisha go into lunch at 49 for four

. It's been Odisha's morning. Takes the home team barely 45 minutes to earn the remaining four scalps at the cost of just 25 runs. Mumbai's first innings is wrapped up for 289. [ Day One report ]


Andhra vs Madhya Pradesh

Our correspondent A. Joseph Antony reports at Vizianagaram:

Andhra ended Day Two on 177 for five, still trailing Madhya Pradesh by 144 runs

. Madhya Pradesh resumed its innings on 219 for 5.

. In reply to Madhya Pradesh's 321, Andhra tottered to 80 for three at tea on the second day of their group C match.

. MP vice-captain Harpreet Singh Bhatia fell a dozen short of his century as the visiting side was 303 for nine on the second day of their group C match against Andhra at the Dr. P.V.G. Raju ACA Sports Complex on Thursday. [ Day One report ]

Baroda vs Tripura

Tripura ended Day Two on 63 for one, trailing Baroda by 458 runs.

Group D

Vidarbha vs Services

Services ended Day Two on 141 for 4, still trailing Vidarbha by 244 runs.

Chhattisgarh vs Punjab

Punjab ended Day Two on a mammoth 481 for six, leading Chhatisgarh by 243 runs.

Bengal vs Himachal

Himachal finished Day Two on 163 for 5, still trailing Bengal by 256 runs.

Day's updates from our correspondent Y. B. Sarangi at Eden Gardens, Kolkata:

Himachal was on 79 for one in 19 overs at tea on day two of the Ranji Trophy match against Bengal at the Eden Gardens. Himachal captain Sumeet Verma (61 batting off 53 balls) led his team's reply. Earlier in the post-lunch session, Bengal was all out for 419 in 121.3 overs as Rishi Dhawan (four for 86) and Pankaj Jaiswal (three for 83) did all the damage.

. Bengal is on 393 for 8 in 118.1 overs at lunch on Day Two versus Himachal. Manoj Tiwary (123 off 223b), who fell to Rishi Dhwan, and Shreevats Goswami (28), claimed by Pankaj Jaiswal, got out in the morning session. They added 64 runs for the sixth wicket.

. Bengal captain Manoj Tiwary scores his 24th first class hundred (100 off 167 balls). Bengal, resuming on 306 for 5, is on 341 for 5 in 99.1 overs in its first innings. [ Day One report ]
