Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow will not feature in the Yokeshire squad for the remainder of County Championship.

Yorkshire will be without England stars Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow for the remainder of its bid to win a third straight County Championship title, the club announced on Monday.

It appears the England management has decreed that star batsman Root and wicket-keeper Bairstow, who both featured in the recent 4-1 One-Day International series win over Pakistan, be rested ahead of next month's tour of Bangladesh.

In any event, the pair will not be available for the final three rounds of First Division in the Championship -- English domestic cricket's first-class competition where matches are played over four days.

Second-placed Yorkshire, whose coach Jason Gillespie will return to his native Australia at the end of the season, is four points behind London-based leader Middlesex, with the clubs set for a title decider at Lord's in their last match of the season from September 20-23.

Root is also in England's squad for the lone Twenty20 International against Pakistan in Old Trafford on Wednesday.

"The Yorkshire County Cricket Club have been advised by the England and Wales Cricket Board that Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow will not be available for the rest of the season.

"A decision on the availability of David Willey, Adil Rashid and Liam Plunkett will be made after Wednesday's NatWest IT20 between England and Pakistan."
