Fourth Windies ODI moved to Brabourne from Wankhede

International cricket will return to the iconic Brabourne Stadium after a decade when it gets to host the fourth One-day International between India and the Windies.

Brabourne last hosted an international match in 2007 when India took on Australia in a T20I.

Sportstar had earlier reported that with no signing authority available at the Mumbai Cricket Association, the Wankhede Stadium was set to lose the hosting rights after the MCA representatives’ repeated meetings with BCCI CEO, Rahul Johri, did not yield any positive result.

The stadium, which has a capacity of 20,000, hosted an international match for the last time in 2007 when India took on Australia in a T20I. The last ODI at the CCI was in 2006 when Australia played West Indies in the ICC Champions Trophy final.

India has played only one ODI at this venue in 1995, where it defeated New Zealand by six wickets. West Indies has played four ODIs, where it lost three and won one.

The five-match ODI series begins in Guwahati on October 21.
