The interviews of the applicants for the post of India’s head coach will be held on July 10 in Mumbai, informed former India captain and member of Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), Sourav Ganguly, here on Saturday.

Ganguly’s announcement now heats up the race for the important post, which has been vacant since Anil Kumble quit last month. Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus, Lalchand Rajput, Dodda Ganesh are the new applicants whose fate will be decided by the CAC.

'CoA geared towards fulfilling Supreme Court mandate'

Meanwhile, Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), headed by Ganguly, has decided to postpone its annual general meeting (AGM) till the July 14, the date when the Supreme Court will hear a case related to Justice Lodha Committee’s cricket reforms. The CAB AGM, generally held at the end of July, was postponed on similar grounds last year.

'Unfortunate that SC verdict isn't implemented'

Presiding over an emergent meeting of CAB on Saturday, Ganguly told the members of its affiliated units that the association cannot hold the AGM till the pending issues before the Supreme Court of India are resolved.
