According to the British Met department, "Most areas on Sunday will be dry with spells of sunshine, the longest of these likely towards the coast. Cloud may bubble up inland to produce a few showers over the hills. Maximum temperature 20 °C."

However, Monday could experience a chilly start with "cloudier skies and some showery rain developing at times" on Tuesday. India's match against New Zealand at Trent Bridge was the fourth match of World Cup 2019 to be abandoned so far, and the third to be called off without a ball being bowled.

This has already surpassed the previous highest number of washed-out matches in a World Cup - two in 1992 and 2003.
