India vs Pakistan: Dhoni's rare DRS blip

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been so accurate in calling for the Decision Review System (DRS) so much that it had been rechristened as 'Dhoni Review System' by fans. However, in a rare blip on Sunday, Dhoni went wrong with the DRS.

In the penultimate ball of the 19th over bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal, Babar Azam almost failed to get his bat down in time and the ball struck the pads and the bat at almost the same time.

While the bowler and skipper Virat Kohli was convinced, Dhoni quickly advised the Indian captain not to go for the review as he thought the ball hit the bat first. While Kohli was still not happy with Dhoni's word, he still paid heed to the former captain and the wicketkeeper's word, although there was considerable time left on the clock to call for the DRS.

The replays, to the horror of the Indians, later showed the ball striking the pad first and then Hawk-Eye threw up three reds.

Azam was on 34 off 40 balls then with the Pakistan score reading 86/1.

The lapse didn't prove costly as Azam was dismissed for 48 by a beauty of a delivery from Kuldeep Yadav. And, Dhoni's celebration said it all.
