England's Joe Root smashed the first century of World Cup 2019 in a league stage match against Pakistan at Trent Bridge on Monday.

The No. 3 batsman reached the three-figure mark off 97 balls with nine boundaries and one maximum as England seeks to chase down a record World Cup target of 349.

This is Root's sixth hundred in 62 innings while batting second.
