New Zealand captain Kane Williamson overtook Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene as the highest-scoring World Cup captain during the final of the 2019 edition against England at Lord’s Cricket Ground in London on Sunday.
Williamson was dismissed for 30 but in the process, he surpassed Jayawardene’s record 548 runs in the 2007 edition. The Kiwi ended his campaign with 578 runs.

Williamson stitched a crucial 74-run partnership with Henry Nicholls to steady the ship after the early dismissal of Martin Guptill.
