Ngidi lives his dream of bowling with Rabada
Lungi Ngidi, who won the Man of the Match for his 6/39, says he had a game plan for India skipper Virat Kohli.

With seven wickets in the match, including six in the Indian second innings, Lungi Ngidi lived a dream on his Test debut.
Adjudged Man of the Match, Ngidi remembered his prized scalp from the match. “It was the Indian captain Kohli’s wicket. That was a very special moment and I had worked hard and sort of figured out a game plan to bowl to him. So finally getting that really did mean a lot to me.”

On the pacemen he looked up to while growing up, Ngidi said, “I actually watched a lot of Andre Nel and was convinced that I had the same bowling action as him, but I realise now that isn’t true. Makhaya Ntini, Andre Nel, Dale Steyn were my idols.”
About the experience of bowling with Kagiso Rabada, Ngidi said, “It did strike me when I was thrown the ball, he was bowling from the other end. It has been a dream of mine. He is No.1 in the world and it shows.”
Never short of confidence, Ngidi felt he could become No.1 bowler in the world too. “I wouldn’t give it a specific date, but as a sportsman I would also like to achieve a milestone like that. It’s something I’ll definitely be chasing.”
