Porel will arrive Kolkata on Tuesday morning and will go on the recovery process for his ruptured tissue on the out step of left foot. According to his coach Bibhash Das, such type of injury takes at least “three weeks to recover”.
“He played with the injury in the knockout stages,” Das said about Porel, who took four wickets in India’s comprehensive win over Pakistan in the U19 World Cup semi-final.
In the final, Porel took two wickets as India defeated Australia by eight wickets to clinch its record fourth U19 World Cup title.
