Munaf Patel retires from all forms of cricket

Indian cricketer Munaf Patel on Saturday announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. He was a member of India's World Cup winning side in 2011. He had played his last game for India in September 2011 in Cardiff, in an ODI against England. He played 13 Tests, 70 ODIs, and three T20Is in a career spanning over 12 years.

Speaking on the reason of retirement to The Indian Express , Munaf said that there was no special reason to retire. He stated that he had aged and that his fitness was not the same. He further added that he was making way for youngsters.

Munaf also noted that he had no regrets on retiring, since apart from Mahendra Singh Dhoni, most of the players he had played with have already retired.

The 35-year-old will next be seen in action in the T10 league in Dubai.
