David Willey will play no part in England's tour of the West Indies after suffering a partial tear of a tendon in his left shoulder.

The all-rounder underwent surgery last week to assess the extent of his injury and has now been ruled out of England's three ODIs next month.

Willey sustained the setback during England's 2-1 ODI series defeat against India in January, the 26-year-old only managing two overs in the final game, which England won by five runs in Kolkata.

In three matches in India Willey failed to take a wicket from his 13 overs, conceding 87 runs, while he contributed just 15 with the bat.

Seamer Steven Finn will take Willey's place in Eoin Morgan's squad for the trip to the Caribbean, with the opening game taking place on March 3 in Antigua.

The Vivian Richards Stadium will also host the second match before a series finale in Barbados.
