Nothing to gain, nothing to lose, except for the clichéd pride, for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Daredevils (DD) in IPL’s last league match.
RCB, suffering an inexplicable slump, will finish at the nadir, irrespective of the game’s result. For its skipper, Virat Kohli, however, it will be one last chance to score big before the Champions Trophy, to win after almost a month, to provide some reprieve to the RCB fans, whose hopes were crushed game after game this season.
This game will also offer opportunity to 19-year-old Rishabh Pant to perform well in front of the Indian skipper, against his team. Kohli had missed the first leg of the contest, in which Pant scored a fifty whilst DD failed to chase down RCB’s 157.
