After a healthy start, Mumbai Indians lost a bit of momentum in the middle overs in the IPL 2019 final against Chennai Super Kings in Hyderabad on Sunday.
Opting to bat, Quinton de Kock 29 off 17 balls (6x4) and Rohit Sharma added 45 runs for the first wicket, before the mini collapse left MI reeling at 89/4.
In the death overs, the focus shifted to back end specialist Kieron Pollard, who turned 32 today.

The umpires thought it was a fair delivery but Pollard threw his bat in the air in frustration; it was the third dot ball on the trot.
He had avoided a single in the first ball as that would have brought Mitchell McClenaghan on strike. He shuffled across the wicket in the second ball; otherwise, it was a clear wide.
Before the fourth delivery, Pollard took guard at the tramline as a silent protest. The umpires had to intervene to normalise the situation.
Bravo bowled an off-stump yorker to restart play. Pollard worked it towards long-off and pushed for a two but McClenaghan failed to make his ground. The run out, however, brought Pollard back on strike.
Pollard smashed the fifth and sixth balls through covers for successive boundaries to take MI to 149 for the loss of eight wickets.
Pollard remained unbeaten on 41 off 25 balls (4x3, 6x3).
