Got'cha! Or did he? Dhawal Kulkarni was befuddled when Chris Lynn survived a clean bowled dismissal after the bails didn't fall despite the ball hitting the stumps.

Kolkata Knight Riders opener Chris Lynn was at the centre of a bizarre incident when the bails were not dislodged despite the ball making contact with the stumps.

In the fourth over of KKR's chase, Lynn got an inside edge off Dhawal Kulkarni, that richocheted on to the stumps and raced to the fence. The bails didn't fall and Lynn survived.

However, this isn't the first instance. Dhoni, captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), had benefited from such a turn of events in the match against Rajasthan Royals (RR) earlier in the season. On Saturday, it was Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) batsman KL Rahul's turn for some good fortune.

In the match against Rajasthan Royals, Dhoni was at the crease and yet to open his account. Jofra Archer was bowling the sixth over. He dug in one short and Dhoni stood tall to defend. The ball rolled on to the stumps, but to everyone's surprise the bails didn't come off the groove.

Cut to Chepauk on Saturday, it was Dhoni behind the stumps when Rahul had the lucky escape. Rahul, batting on 42 (he was dismissed for 55), dabbed the ball to the on-side and set off for a single. Dhoni reached the ball in a flash and flicked it ball back to the stumps. The ball made contact, but the bails weren't dislodged.
