Kings XI Punjab opener KL Rahul got off to an uncharacteristically slow start against the Rajasthan Royals at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.

The Karnataka batsman, who was on Monday, named in India's ICC Cricket World Cup squad, was batting on 8 off 19 balls at the end of nine overs but gathered pace as the innings wore on.

Rahul struck two sixes and and three boundaries en route to his fifty. He got to the landmark with a boundary through deep extra cover off Jofra Archer.

Rahul was eventually dismissed for 52 off 47 deliveries.
