Kings XI ropes in Harris, McMillan as coaches
The franchise had finished seventh in the last edition of the IPL, and earlier this year, Virender Sehwag quit as the team mentor.

Ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction, Kings XI Punjab has appointed former Australia pacer Ryan Harris as its bowling coach. The 39-year-old comes in as the replacement of Venkatesh Prasad, who had stepped down as the team’s bowling coach a few days ago.
The franchise has also roped in former New Zealand batsman and the team’s batting coach, Craig McMillan as its fielding coach.
“Having quality coaches like Harris and McMillan will be a great asset to the team. They have both performed as players on the big stage and have made the transition into quality coaches. They will be excellent additions to the coaching team,” Kings XI Punjab’s new head coach, Mike Hesson, said.

The franchise had earlier appointed Sridharan Sriram as its spin bowling coach and Prasanna Agoram as the high-performance coach. Former Australian cricketer Brett Harrop has been appointed as the team physio.

Going into the auction in Jaipur on December 19, Kings XI Punjab is left with highest salary cap among all the teams in the IPL after releasing eleven players including Yuvraj Singh, Aaron Finch, Axar Patel. The franchise also traded Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis for Royal Challenger Bangalore’s Mandeep Singh for the next edition of the tournament.
