Robin Uthappa top-scored (53 of 28) as Kolkata Knight Riders made short work of Kings XI Punjab's total of 138, winning the match 17 balls to spare and six wickets in hand.
The opening act of the Gautam Gambhir-Robin Uthappa show continued its successful run in the season, as they stitched a 83-run partnership for the first wicket. Gambhir made a run-a-ball 34.
Gambhir was caught at midwicket by a brilliantly running, diving Glenn Maxwell, who is celebrating the dismissal with captain David Miller. That, however, was to be the only high point for KXIP in the second innings.
Put in to bat first, Kings XI faltered yet again. Murali Vijay did his bit and scored a brisk 26 of only 22 balls.
However, he was castled by Piyush Chawla, completing misreading the the leggie's wrong one.
Shaun Marsh finally came good for the host, scoring an unbeaten 56 to help Kings XI post a reasonable total as the rest of the big names didn't fire.
Sunil Narine was the pick of the bowlers as he returned figures of 4 for 22 in his four overs that included the big scalp of Glen Maxwell, who was dismissed cheaply for only four.
