Virat Kohli will look to continue his momentum from the South Africa series, where he amassed a staggering 844 runs and lead RCB to its first IPL title.

Virat Kohli sought to work himself back into the groove as he arrived in the city on Friday, ahead of the Indian Premier League season. The Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper wasted little time, heading to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium not long after he had landed.

Kohli, who sat out the Nidahas Trophy in Sri Lanka, last played for India over a month ago, in the second T20I against South Africa at Centurion. The 29-year-old was a picture of concentration during his centre-wicket practice session, batting for close to three-quarters of an hour.

Kohli was the outstanding performer in India's one-day series victory in South Africa, where he tallied 558 runs (including three hundreds) from six matches, averaging 186. RCB will hope Kohli can carry that form into the IPL as he enters his 11th season with the side.

While some domestic players had trained briefly with the side earlier this month, RCB's full-fledged pre-season camp will commence here on Saturday. However, the likes of AB de Villiers, Quinton de Kock, Chris Woakes, Moeen Ali, Colin de Grandhomme, and Tim Southee are only expected to join the squad later as they are with their national sides.
