Despite a poor run, the season isn't yet over for defending champion Mumbai Indians, as has been pointed out by its captain Rohit Sharma. However, with only three wins out of nine matches, the team desperately needs a late surge in the group stages to make the playoffs. Its opponent on Sunday, Kolkata Knight Riders, would hope to avoid a late slip-up as placed third in the points table, it is a favourite to make it through.
