Shikhar Dhawan wants to join family business after retirement

At a time, when most of his contemporaries are thinking of where lies the future, Shikhar Dhawan knows exactly what to do after he is done with the sport.

Shikhar Dhawan means business, literally. The swashbuckling India batsman does not pull any punches, as he reveals that he would join his family business after retiring from the game.

Coming from a business family, the flamboyant southpaw would have joined the business had he not fallen in love with cricket. However, at a time, when most of his contemporaries are thinking of where lies the future, Dhawan knows exactly what to do after he is done with the sport. “I would have been into the family business had I not been here. Once I finish my cricket, I will join the family business,” Dhawan says, on the sidelines of a promotional event organised by one of the team's sponsors, Rupa.

Indian cricketers turning businessmen is nothing new. After calling it quits, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar and Sourav Ganguly started their own business ventures. Even current cricketers, Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh also have their business ventures.

And speaking his mind, Dhawan too has decided to follow the path, after he hangs up the boots.
