Suryakumar Yadav believes the win against Chennai Super Kings will hold Mumbai Indians in good stead when it meets Royal Challengers Bangalore on Tuesday.

Mumbai Indians arrives in Bengaluru on the back of a crushing eight-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in Pune, and opener Suryakumar Yadav acknowledged the significance of beating the champion side going into the business end of the league.

Placed sixth and seventh respectively, MI and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be eager for a win at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Tuesday.

"It's good we are coming here on the back of a win. We will look to ride the momentum," said Yadav here on Monday.

Rohit Sharma, who has had a patchy start to the season, shepherded Mumbai home with a 33-ball 56 against CSK. The skipper's promotion in the batting order is something that could happen again, hinted Yadav.

"It was a great thing that he (Rohit Sharma) put his hand up in the pressure situation. We are very happy. In the coming games, we can see more of it," he added.

Five defeats in seven games belied MI’s champion status this season. When asked how the defeats affected the team’s morale, the 27-year-old said, “We took the losses in our stride instead of brooding on them. The post-match talks were quite positive because the tournament didn't get over with those games."

MI has a better net run rate (+0.033) than RCB (-0.447), which could be a deciding factor ahead of the play-offs in May.

"We watched RCB's match against KKR on Sunday. Every game is important for us. We have a good net run rate and we'll try to maintain it. Winning is our priority and we are raring to go."
